  Engineers and analysts dissect the product to uncover its internal workings, structure, and design principles. This can involve disassembly, visual inspection, and measurements to map out how different parts interact.

  • Documentation:

  Detailed documentation is crucial throughout the process. This includes creating diagrams, CAD models, and technical specifications that capture the product’s design and functionality accurately.

  • Analysis and Testing:

  Reverse engineers analyze the gathered information to deduce how the product operates. They may conduct simulations or practical tests to verify hypotheses about its behavior and performance. Depending on the goal, reverse engineering may involve creating a replica of the original product or modifying its design. 

  • What Pioneer Can Do Related to Reverse Engineering:

  We have acquired the GOM ScanCobot with ATOS Q 12M, designed for scanning tasks in reverse engineering. Its rapid measurement capabilities make it suitable for any field requiring swift acquisition of digital object data. GOM ATOS, recognized in the manufacturing industry for metrology and reverse engineering applications, has proven to deliver practical results with the highest accuracy.

  The device's measurement head consists of two optical lenses on either side and a grating projection unit in the middle. The projection unit projects a grating onto the object, and the lenses capture images, which are then processed through sophisticated software to compute a point cloud of the object's data. It can generate six million data points in as little as three seconds. This system integrates seamlessly with professional reverse engineering software such as Geomagic Design X and inspection software like GOM Inspect.
